We think you'll fall in love with Samburu National Reserve at first sight. It's a fantastic reserve that doesn't get the crowds you sometimes see in Kenya's south. The reserve is well-stocked with predators, including lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena, with sightings of elephant, giraffe, hippo and zebra also common. It's a chance to see some northern animals that are hard to see elsewhere, including Somali ostrich, gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, beisa oryx and reticulated giraffe. Fabulous scenery and nearly 400 bird species too.
Evening game drive-Going on an evening game drive is one of the highlights of any safari. This is when temperatures cool, the light becomes softer and the wildlife begins to get active. Not only will you be out when the light is best for taking photos, but it's also one of the best times of day for seeing the animals.
